Join us for an All-School "Barker"que! 🍔

Join us for our annual schoolwide barbeque on May 20th, 10:30am - 12:00pm, in the Barker Creek cafe. CKSD Food Service will be serving up burgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers. Parent/guardian meals cost $5.25, and students eat free! Virtual Academy and Parent Partnership families, as well as Classroom-based parents/guardians, please RSVP here by Monday, May 11th. Meal payment instructions are included in the RSVP form. We hope to see you there!
 

ClassLink IDP/MFA Update

As part of CKSD’s efforts to strengthen student account security, we will be updating the student login process and enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Soon after we return from Spring Break, students will see a different login screen after restarting their Chromebooks. They will continue using their current username and password and will also enter a 6-digit PIN.

This change will not affect how students use their Chromebooks or online learning tools. Staff will be available to support students during the transition, and we expect students to adjust quickly.

Thank you for your support as we enhance the security of student accounts.
 

Neighborhood School Dance Tickets

Did you know? Students can purchase tickets for their neighborhood school dances at the Barker Creek office. Before buying tickets, make sure to complete the necessary dance contract, which you can pick up at the BCCS office.


To be eligible for ticket purchase, students must:
  • The school dance must be at their attendance area/neighborhood school.
  • Be in good academic and behavioral standing.
 

Reminder - May SBA Testing

The Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) measures progress toward state learning standards in Math and English/Language Arts.

Students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 take the SBA in May at Barker Creek. Students in grade 11 take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment (WCAS). Please note the dates below. Additional information will be sent out as we get closer to testing.

  • 3rd-8th Testing: Monday, May 4th; Tuesday, May 5th; Monday, May 11th; Tuesday, May 12th
  • 10th Testing: Wednesday, May 6th; Thursday, May 7th; Wednesday, May 13th; Thursday, May 14th
  • 11th Testing: Wednesday, May 20th
Makeups will be scheduled for the week of May 18th through the 21st.
 

Chipotle Fundraiser - Thank You! 🌯🎓

Thank you so much to our students and families who came out to support our Chipotle fundraiser! Because of you, we raised over $500, which will help cover the cost of caps and gowns for this year’s graduates.
