Food Service at Barker Creek
We are able to provide free breakfasts and lunches to all students at our school. Free meals are available through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program and are based on the economic demographics of a school community. Please complete a family Community Eligibility Provision form to help us secure state funding for this and other essential education programs. Complete the form through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Visit the district PowerSchool web page if you need help accessing PowerSchool.

If you have any questions about meals, contact Child Nutrition at 360-662-1090.

Please be aware if you have students enrolled at other CKSD schools, not every school has qualified. Only the following schools are able to provide free meals to all students for the 2022-23 school year: BCCS, Esquire Hills, Fairview, PineCrest, and Woodlands. Students at schools not listed here can still apply for the Free/Reduced Lunch program.

Kitsap Transit - Free ORCA Cards for Students
As of September 1st, all students 18 and under can ride FREE on Kitsap Transit buses and ferries. To take advantage of the free fare, riders are expected to tap their Youth ORCA card upon boarding a Kitsap Transit bus. The card will be valid for free transit until the student's 19th birthday. ORCA cards are available to Barker Creek students in our main office and can be checked out to students Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 3:15pm. Please note, if a student is under 18, office staff will need parent permission to check out a card to them.

Health Protocol Updates
If your student is feeling unwell, please review the current symptom flowchart from the Washington Department of Health to determine if it's appropriate for them to attend school. An important change to note in the new guidelines is if a student is exposed to Covid-19, they are still eligible to attend class as long as no symptoms develop. Masks continue to be optional for students, staff, and visitors on campus. If you have any questions regarding current health protocols, please direct them to our main office at 360-662-2570.

Medication Drop Off
Please make plans with our main office (360-662-2570) to drop off in-school medication for your student as soon as possible. Please be sure to bring the medication in the container provided by the pharmacy and your doctor's order that contains the following information: the name of the student, a signature from the health care provider, and a parent/guardian signature. Students cannot transport their own medication, unless it is a self-carry medication. If the medication is to be stored in our office, it must be signed in by a parent or guardian.
