Human Growth & Development Reminder
In line with the AIDS Omnibus Act of 1988, Central Kitsap School District provides Human Growth and Development (HG&D) and HIV/AIDS instruction for 5th-12th graders. The lesson is taught digitally by a registered nurse and provides medically and scientifically accurate information. Letters have been distributed to students and families which give families the opportunity to review the curriculum, as as well as opt their student in or out of the lesson.

Our Parent Partnership and Virtual Academy families are not required to fill out the Opt Out/In form, as the lesson will not be given by our staff. We are required to receive an Opt Out/In form for each of our Classroom-based students, as the lesson will be given during class time. If you need an additional form, the BCCS office is happy to email you a copy or send one home with your student.

If you have any questions regarding the lesson, please contact Ryanne Needham, RN at [email protected]

Snow Day Makeups Reminder
Due to inclement weather that caused snow closures in late November and early December, our School Board has added three dates to our school calendar: February 3rd, February 17th, and March 3rd. Our Classroom-based program has two days to make up, and class will be in session on the following Fridays:
February 17th - AM Session only
March 3rd - PM Session only

Please contact our main office at 360-662-2570 if you have any questions regarding our snow makeup days.

When to Stay Home - Health Guidelines
We're at the peak of cold and flu season, and we appreciate our families' help to maintain the health and safety of our student body by keeping students home when they're feeling unwell. Unsure of the current CKSD and Department of Health guidelines? We've included the most up-to-date guidance for you here:

Vaccination Clinic
Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) and Central Kitsap School District have partnered to bring all CKSD students the opportunity to get their Tdap, MCV, and HPV vaccines. The vaccination clinic is February 23rd, 3:00 - 6:00pm at Olympic High School. All insurances are accepted, and help is available for those who are uninsured. Parents are required to attend with their student(s). Please contact PCHS directly at (360) 377-3776 to register, as there will be limited walk-in availability.
