back to school

Message from Principal Stuart Crisman:

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I hope you enjoyed a summer vacation filled with fun and exciting memories. I am thrilled to welcome all of you back to a new school year and excited to see all that our students accomplish this year.

Our teachers have been working to continue to provide not only core academic courses but also a variety of electives that are engaging and relevant.  We have also been working to continue to have a school that is welcoming to all.

I hope that you take a few minutes to review the material in our newsletter.  In the newsletter we have included information about our schedule for the first two days of school, bus schedules, lunches and some important phone numbers for our school.

I look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday, September 4th.

On the first day, Sept. 4, students may come for either session, 8:05-11:00 or 11:35—2:30. The first two days will be orientation. Students need to attend both days.

Students will receive their schedules on Monday, Sept. 9. They do not attend school on Fridays.

The only supplies they need will be a backpack, paper, pen, pencils and water bottle to start.

Breakfast will be available but they must be on time to eat at Barker Creek.

Barker Creek is a closed campus! Students may not leave without a parent calling to notify the office or coming in to check them out.

Welcome to the BCCS Online Program!  Mrs. Zuber is our online instructor for the 2019-2020 school year.

Her office hours will be Monday — Thursday:
8:30 — 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 — 3:30 p.m.

Please plan on attending the orientation on September 4th and 5th for more information.

To make the first day of school go smoothly, we urge you to bring in medication and lunch money before the 1st day of school.

If your child has a life threatening illness he/she may not start school without necessary medication and the medication form signed by the physician.

Students are not allowed to carry medication on them to school without the proper paperwork.

Picture Day is Thursday, October 3rd.

All students need to be at school and have their picture taken.  They will get a school ID only if they are here for pictures.

It is very important that your child arrives to school on time. They miss very important instruction when they are late.

If your student is more than 15 minutes late they will be marked unverified and you will receive a phone call home stating that your child was not at school.  So please call us at 360-662-2570 if you want to excuse your student’s tardy and avoid the phone call.

Please call us within 48 hours to excuse an absence, otherwise it will remain unexcused.

Your student cannot be successful if they are not at school.

You can access your student’s bus schedule by gusing the district's online route service. Find it under the Info section under Bus Procedures and Bus Stops : http://barkercreek.ckschools.org/info/buses/bus_stops.

You will need to enter your full and exact address, as it would appear on a property assessment.

Breakfast will be served on the first day of school. All families mustrenew their free/reduced applicationyearly.

If you are new to Barker Creek, you need to send money for lunch until your application has been approved. Lunch applications are available in the office now for new families and they are also part of the online registration process. They get approved much quicker if you apply online.

Lunch money is to be paid in the office or online at https://touchbase.ckschools.org
